Vasa,

Although I'm not much interested in gaming, the video you posted makes the Wii looks really fun and interactive. The marketing strategies used reach out to all age groups and both genders, which is rare. I agree with Joe that early childhood issues such as obesity and the lack of development in the domain of social skills as a result of an increase in gaming are a big concern. I like the idea of gaming becoming more interactive and adding physical components, rather than just exercises of the mind and thumbs.

After having the Wii for almost 3 weeks now, I can truly say it is a breath of fresh air. My parents even enjoy the machine. My mom, who suffered a back injury several years ago, is able to enjoy the machine, including the bowling game, something of which she can no longer participate in in real life do to weight limitations imposed upon after surgery. I find myself leaping around like a fool playing Zelda or Wii Sports Tennis, but man, looking like a fool has never felt so good, or been so enjoyable.
